Is our AV equipment union compliant at the Colorado Convention Center?
Denver's show floor follows the standard division. The general contractor's crews handle freight and forklifts, and electrical connections run through the official provider. Colorado is not a strict right-to-work state, but most shows here allow full-time staff to set their own booths and place their own equipment.
Does Denver's altitude really affect AV equipment?
Yes. At 5,280 feet the air is about 15% less dense, so fans move less cooling mass and projectors, LED walls, and amplifiers run hotter for the same load. We derate and ventilate equipment specced for Denver so it doesn't overheat mid-keynote.
How much does drayage cost at the Colorado Convention Center?
Per-CWT billing with minimums through the show's contractor, at rates set show by show. Denver typically prices below the coastal mega-venues, but the spread between advance warehouse and show-site rates is still meaningful.
Can we plug in and cable our own booth?
Plugging your own displays into your ordered power drop is exhibitor work. The drop itself and any under-carpet power distribution belong to the official electrical contractor. Order power by the advance deadline, and order the circuit size your equipment actually needs.
What about hanging screens or lighting overhead?
Overhead rigging goes through the show's rigging provider with advance plans. The CCC's exhibit halls rig cleanly, but for mid-size booths we often recommend ground-supported walls to skip the rigging cost entirely.
Any shipping quirks for Denver shows?
Winter is the catch. I-70 and I-25 weather delays are routine December through March. Ship to the advance warehouse rather than direct to show in winter, so a snowed-in truck doesn't become an empty booth.
