Can our own team set up our booth and AV at the OCCC?
Generally yes. Florida is a right-to-work state and most OCCC shows allow full-time employees to build their own booths and place their own equipment. The boundaries are the dock, where contractor freight crews take over, and the power connection, which is venue work.
Who provides booth power at the OCCC?
The venue itself. Electrical at the OCCC is ordered through the convention center's own exhibitor services, not the general contractor. Advance-rate deadlines typically fall a few weeks out and on-site orders carry a hefty premium, so order power with your booth design, not at move-in.
How much does drayage cost at the OCCC?
Per-CWT with per-shipment minimums through the show's general contractor. IAAPA-scale shows move enormous freight volumes, so advance warehouse windows and targeted move-in dates are enforced. Off-target freight waits, and waiting in Orlando costs money.
Does it matter which OCCC building our booth is in?
Very much. The West Building and the North/South Building sit on opposite sides of International Drive with separate docks and marshalling. Freight, labor calls, and even staff parking differ by building. Confirm yours before booking anything.
What are the rigging rules for overhead screens and signs?
Overhead hangs run through the show's rigging provider, with weights and plans submitted in advance, and lit elements involve electrical labor. The OCCC's high ceilings rig well for big shows. For smaller booths, ground-supported LED is usually the better spend.
Any Florida-specific considerations for AV equipment?
Summer afternoon storms make covered, crated staging important for any dock time, and hurricane season from June to November argues for advance shipping with slack. Inside, the OCCC is fully conditioned. The risk window is transit and the dock, not the floor.
